MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Friday said that India continues to remain engaged with the United States on trade issues.

"We continue to remain engaged with the US side on trade issues... We see the Quad as a valuable forum for discussion among the four member countries on shared interests on several issues. The leaders' summit is scheduled through diplomatic consultations among the member countries," Jaiswal said.

He further said that India welcomes all efforts to establish peace in Ukraine and it supports an early end to the conflict.

Trump claimed that India, like China and Brazil, “kills” the United States with tariffs.

“China kills us with tariffs, India kills us with tariffs, Brazil kills us with tariffs. I’ve understood tariffs better than they did; I understood tariffs better than any human beings in the world. India was the most highly tariffed nation in the world, and you know what, they’ve offered me no tariffs in India anymore. No tariffs," he said speaking at The Scott Jennings Radio Show.
