Union Environment Minister and senior BJP leader Bhupender Yadav has alleged that the Congress must apologise for “trying to taint Hinduism” by fabricating the “saffron terror” narrative in the Malegaon blast case. Speaking to News18in an interview, Yadav said that after the court acquittals in the case, Congress leaders have gone silent “like they have lost the ability to speak.”
On Malegaon blast case acquittals, he claimed that appeasement for vote bank politics had been the Congress’s “open secret for decades” and cited a retired ATS officer Mehiboob Mujawar’s statement that there was pressure to arrest RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
“Rahul Gandhi even said Hindu terror is more deadly than Lashkar-e-Taiba. This shows the Congress party’s true intentions,” Yadav told News18, adding that the party should apologise for “trying to dent Sanatan.”
"While on the one hand, they cried that terror has no religion when it was minorities caught in terror attacks, and they fabricated a whole case to dent Sanatan by claiming terror is saffron," he told News18.
On Parliament disruptions over the Bihar SIR issue, Yadav accused the opposition of repeatedly stalling proceedings. He said the Congress-led bloc demanded revision of voter lists alleging anomalies, but is now objecting to the process.
According to him, Rahul Gandhi is “threatening the Election Commission with consequences” after being asked to sign a declaration under Rule 20(3) b of the Registration of Electoral Rules, 1960 — something Yadav claimed Gandhi “won’t sign because he knows he is lying.” How can the leader of opposition talk in this language, Yadav asked.
The minister alleged the Opposition is attacking democratic institutions “by design,” recalling that even the Supreme Court had recently “rapped Rahul Gandhi for derogatory remarks against the Indian Army.” He urged the opposition to “behave responsibly,” saying casting aspersions on institutions is “detrimental to democracy.”
On national security issues like Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev, Yadav accused the Congress of opposing the Modi government “in a bid to oppose the country.” He said that during the UPA years, terror attacks were frequent, whereas under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has adopted a “zero tolerance to terror” policy, refusing nuclear blackmail and making no distinction between state sponsors and masterminds of terrorism.
Yadav further alleged that the Congress was “quoting Pakistan’s fake claims” to allege Operation Sindoor had failed, calling it “an insult to the Indian Armed Forces.” He said families of victims have testified that Hindus were targeted and killed, but the Congress “has the audacity to say they are lying,” terming it “reprehensible politics.”
