Bengaluru Metro's Pink Line to be operational in two phases

The 7.5 km elevated section from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere will be operational by September 2025, and 13.8 km underground section connecting Dairy Circle to Nagawara will be ready by June 2026.

In July 2024, BMRCL achieved a new milestone with 308 meters of tunnelling completed by Tunnel boring machine (TBM) Tunga between KG Halli and the Nagawara retrieval shaft by ITD. This surpassed the previous record of 273 meters by TBM Urja between Cantonment and Pottery Town in May 2022 by L&T.

Bengaluru Metro's Pink Line, which links Kalena Agrahara (Gottigere) on Bannerghatta Road in the south with Nagawara on Outer Ring Road in the north, will be operational in two phases, Moneycontrol has learnt.

A senior Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) official told Moneycontrol, “The 7.5 km elevated section from Kalena Agrahara (Gottigere) to Tavarekere (Swagath Cross) will be operational by September 2025. The 13.8 km underground section, connecting Dairy Circle to Nagawara, will be ready by June 2026."

In August 2023, Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) said it received rolling stock order worth Rs 3,177 crore from BMRCL to supply 318 coaches for Bengaluru Metro's Phase 2, Phase 2A, and Phase 2B corridors. This includes 96 coaches for the Pink Line. BMRCL officials said BEML is expected to deliver the trains between June 2025 and December 2026.
