The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has reportedly unveiled plans to transform 60 percent of the Ram Temple complex in Ayodhya into green spaces.
According to Nripendra Mishra, chairman of the temple's construction committee, cited in a Times of India report on Sunday, the initiative is part of a broader "zero-discharge policy" aimed at preventing liquid waste pollution and promoting overall cleanliness in the temple city.
As per Mishra, a large portion of the complex will be dedicated to gardens featuring fruit-bearing plants, reinforcing the spiritual and ecological ethos of the site.
A key highlight of the project, states the report, will be an eight-acre garden named Panchvati, which will symbolically represent key episodes from the life of Lord Ram and is expected to emerge as a major tourist draw.
The Panchvati garden will be developed and maintained for five years by the GMR Group, a major infrastructure conglomerate known for managing airports and headquartered in Andhra Pradesh, further mentions the report.
Early this April, Mishra confirmed that the construction of the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has reached near completion, with 99 per cent of the work done.
Mishra said the remaining works, including the development of the temple’s periphery, landscaping, and installation of additional spiritual and cultural elements, are expected to be completed by December 2025.
