The lone survivor of the Air India plane crash, Viswashkumar Ramesh, was saved only because he fell and landed between two buildings. India Today said that experts have claimed that Ramesh landed on soft soil between the two buildings and that was possibly what saved him.

In addition to that, the sources that India Today report has cited, also said that had it been an internal blast inside the plane, there were very slim chances of the person sitting in seat 11A to escape unharmed from the ill-fated aircraft.

Reportedly, Ramesh survived only because the spot where he fell broke the force of impact just enough for him to survive. Ramesh is the only survivor from the crash and was being treated at the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital till Wednesday. He was discharged on Wednesday and attended the last rites of his brother, who was seated in a different row and was killed in the crash.

Ramesh was onboard the plane with 241 other people, all of whom tragically passed away in the crash. The DNA samples of the family members of the deceased were collected and the identification process of the bodies has been going on since the last few days. The bodies are subsequently being handed over to the families as and when the DNA matches.
