As many as 48 flights were affected due to low-visibility conditions at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport on December 15.
Airport sources told Moneycontrol that 48 flights - 46 domestic and two international- were delayed between 4.14am and 10am on Monday due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
Meanwhile, four flights to and from Delhi- two arrivals and two departures- were cancelled due to dense fog at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), minimum temperature recorded on December 15, 2025, was 14.6°C, 2.2°C below normal.
According to IMD records, Bengaluru’s December minimum temperatures over the past decade have largely ranged between 12°C and 16°C. The lowest December temperature in recent years was recorded in 2016 at 12.0°C on December 11, followed by 12.8°C on December 24, 2011. More recently, the city recorded minimums of 15.5°C in December 2024 and 15.0°C in December 2023. IMD data also shows that Bengaluru’s all-time lowest temperature was 8.9°C, recorded on January 29, 1883.
Meanwhile, passengers travelling from Delhi airport have been warned about possible delays due to dense fog. In an advisory posted on X, Delhi Airport said that flight operations may be affected and urged passengers to check flight updates with their respective airlines.
