Digital payment transactions hit a record high of 1.5 billion in July from nearly 822 million transactions in the same period last year. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to boost Unified Payments Interface as a transaction. In fact, UPI transactions have almost doubled from Rs 1.46 lakh crore in July 2019 to Rs 2.9 lakh crore.
