CRPF jawan tries to rape woman, held

Guwahati, Jan 3 (PTI) A CRPF jawan was tonight arrested for allegedly trying to rape and molest a woman near a forest area in North Lakhimpur town of Assam, a senior official said. Lakhimpur Deputy Commissioner Anwaruddin Chowdhury said the jawan, along with four to five other men, attempted to molest and rape the woman this evening. He said there was no rape but attempted rape and only the jawan tried to sexually assault the woman. The jawan was arrested and kept in North Lakhimpur police station, Chowdhury added. PTI SRS SB PAL
