After the completion of the merger between GE Transportation and Wabtec in 2019, Wabtec joined the ranks of the top three manufacturers and suppliers of rail globally, with a combined worth of $9 billion.

The company has one of the largest foreign investments in India's railways sector. It operates a diesel locomotive factory at Marhowra in Bihar. The company has a contract with the Indian Railways to supply 1,000 locomotives, estimated to cost around Rs 14,656 crore.

Nalin Jain, the Group President of Wabtec’s Digital Electronics Business globally, talks to Moneycontrol in an exclusive interview about the company’s global digital electronics portfolio, its software applications, mission-critical controls systems as well as the Marhowrah project.
