The market is likely to start on a positive note as Asian stocks rise even as Japan’s stocks struggle against a strengthening yen with markets from Hong Kong to Singapore advanced as Oil extended gains after OPEC’s top official said the group intends to achieve full compliance with a deal to trim production. The European markets were mixed and the US markets were up and stayed that way as US stock indexes posted record highs, as Expectations for an interest-rate increase at the Fed’s next policy meeting have been on the rise. As per provisional figures, foreign institutional investors (FIIs)/Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) sold shares worth net Rs 1435.76 crore on February 21, 2017. Domestic institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 1535.44 crores on that day.
