Prakash Diwan of Altamount Capital told CNBC-TV18, "Maruti Suzuki India continues to magically keep everybody captivated with the kind of growth that it has clocked. There could be some headwinds for the likes of Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) because the compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) market is seeing a lot of competition. Creta has been preponed for its launch by Hyundai and Maruti is talking about preponing of its crossover. So, that segment which M&M was very clearly identifying as a growth area, it is going to have a tough time going forward which is something which we have not factored in. The price doesn’t reflect that, it is still very strong at Rs 1200 plus."

"The Creta has had a very good reception in China in the form of ix25. So, that is like an already tried and tested kind of model. If they get the pricing right it is going to take away huge market share from the EcoSport and the Duster segment," he added.
