PN Vijay, Portfolio Manager is negative on cement space.
Vijay told CNBC-TV18, "One has been bearish on cement and one continues to be bearish on cement because the supply situation has improved and most importantly their cost have gone up very considerably in terms of coal and freight so their margins are under pressure. They are getting better price realizations in certain segments but not enough." He further added, "We are concentrating a lot on rate sensitive’s getting the view that interest rates and CRR are gradually being cut and we are looking at those balance sheets which would be the biggest beneficiary and where the risk is optimal and so it leaves you auto and banking really and a spat of real estate and we are sticking to our old favorites in FMCG just to give a balance to the portfolio. So that will continue to be our approach for the next 3-4months."
