Buy metal stocks on dip: Sangeeta Purushottam

Sangeeta Purushottam, Founder and Managing Partner at Cogito Advisors is of the view that one may buy metal stocks on weakness because they have rallied 25-30 percent from lower levels.

Sangeeta Purushottam, Founder and Managing Partner at Cogito Advisors told CNBC-TV18, "Metals have run up a fair amount, so getting in at this level after you have seen a rally from lower levels of about 25-30 percent is fraught with some level of risk. If one has to get into metals you just wait for a certain weakness to come back and then get in rather than at these levels."


At 10:20 hrs Tata Steel was quoting at Rs 288, down Rs 1.85, or 0.64 percent.
The share touched its 52-week high Rs 448.10 and 52-week low Rs 195.40 on 07 January, 2013 and 07 August, 2013, respectively.
The company's trailing 12-month (TTM) EPS was at Rs 58.58 per share. (Jun, 2013). The stock's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio was 4.92. The latest book value of the company is Rs 568.46 per share. At current value, the price-to-book value of the company was 0.51. The dividend yield of the company was 2.78 percent.
