Auto space can continue its underperformance, says Devang Mehta of Anand Rathi Financial Services.

Mehta told CNBC-TV18, "Autos can continue its stream of underperformance, as it has been a stellar performer last year and also the high base effect coming into picture, also the interest rate on upturn and crude prices spiraling upwards; it is difficult times for auto ahead as already the margins are in pressure. Going forward we can see the sales also being curtailed to a certain limit, so as such autos would be a difficult thing, but for banks I guess it is not very difficult times yet."
