Cricketer Yuvraj Singh has invested in Delhi-based startup Gurukul and has chosen to be a brand ambassador of the same for the next four years.
Co-founded by Abhinav Tandon and Mohammed Sirajudin Gurukul's business model based on shared office spaces.
“Yuvraj Singh has been involved from the beginning. The paper work formalities, however, have just finished. He is a partner in the company and holds equity,” said Abhinav Tandon, co-founder of Gurukul, as per multiple media reports.
The company, which has its first centre in Gurugram, said the amount invested could not be revealed due to a financial Non-Disclosure Agreement between the cricketer and the company.
Gurukul plans to set up two more centres, one in Mangalore and another in Delhi, by the year end.
"It feels great to be a part of the Creator’s Gurukul team... I am confident that the unique business model of Creator's Gurukul will disrupt the sector in a big way," Singh said, as per reports.
The investment was done through the cricketer’s own holding, YouWeCan ventures, which has been primarily focused on helping entrepreneurs scale up to different levels.
Yuvraj Singh has also invested in other projects after he announced a Rs 40-50 crore fund in 2015 that he set aside for injecting into potential upcoming startups.
Till now, the cricketer’s investment portfolio includes JetSetGo, cargo logistics firm Moovo, EduKart, online beauty services venture Vyomo, healthcare startup Healthians and Mumbai-based brand licensing startup Black White Orange among others.
