Bengaluru-based auto and cab ride-hailing firm Namma Yatri has crossed a registered user base of over 1 crore on January 18, according to the data shared by the company on its website.
The Ola and Uber challenger, which operates on the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce, has till date completed 7.49 crore trips over 5.8 lakh enabled drivers on board. The drivers’ overall earning has also crossed Rs 1,200 crore so far, adding close to Rs 3 crore in just one day on January 17, the data showed.
Namma Yatri had started in November 2022 from Bengaluru and has expanded into tier 2 and tier 3 cities such as Bhubaneswar and Asansol, where its bigger rivals have a weak presence.
The maximum number of trips, 6.5 crore to be precise, were from Bengaluru. Kolkata was a distant second with close to 72 lakh trips completed with a search-to-trips conversion percentage of 19.2 percent.
Other top cities with more than 3 lakh trips were Mysuru, Kochi, Tumkuru and Chennai.
In 2024, Moneycontrol had reported that the firm is exploring its entry into the US with tie ups with local unions. It was also reported by Moneycontrol in July 2024 that Moving Tech Innovations Ltd, the company behind community-led mobility apps such as Namma Yatri and Yatri Sathi, has raised $11 million in a pre-Series A funding round.
