Info Edge Chief Financial Officer Chintan Thakkar has officially stepped down after a 12-year tenure at the company, marking the end of a planned transition that began earlier this year.
Moneycontrol had previously reported that Thakkar was stepping down in August and would be relieved of his duties on or before November 19.
Thakkar, who joined Info Edge in 2013, played a key role across finance, controls, compliance and capital allocation during a period that saw the company expand its core platforms and deepen its early-stage investment portfolio. He is moving to a leadership role at Indian Angel Network (IAN) after completing his notice period, where he will be joining as CEO and Partner.
Founder and chairman Sanjeev Bikhchandani acknowledged the departure in a detailed post on X, calling Thakkar “a super person, a great friend, advisor, supporter, problem solver and well wisher,” and someone who was often his “go to person for all things finance, accounts, legal, tax, deal structuring, governance and business in general.”
“A great CFO and Board member, he served Info Edge with great distinction for twelve years, keeping us out of trouble and helping us avoid potholes,” Bikhchandani wrote. “Wise people have said that the CFO’s main job is to save the founders from themselves. Chintan certainly did that very well.”
He added that interim CFO Ambarish Raghuvanshi — who has been shadowing Thakkar for the past three months — is confident in the people, processes and systems built under his watch and expects a smooth changeover.
With the transition now complete, Info Edge enters its next phase with continuity in its finance leadership and a formal handover across key governance functions.
