Over 64.96 lakh digital life certificates have already been submitted since November 1, 2025, as pensioners across India rush to complete their annual verification. However, if you’ve recently received a message saying your Jeevan Pramaan or Digital Life Certificate (DLC) has been rejected, you are not alone and this can be fixed.
What is Jeevan Pramaan
Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric-enabled, Aadhaar-based digital service that allows pensioners to prove their “aliveness” without physically visiting their pension office. It is meant for pensioners of the Central and State Governments, as well as other government organizations whose Pension Sanctioning Authority (PSA) is onboarded on the Jeevan Pramaan platform.
Why DLC gets rejected
However, rejections are not uncommon — and they usually happen due to simple errors. According to the Jeevan Pramaan portal, a DLC can be rejected if incorrect details (like Aadhaar number, PPO number, or pension account) are entered while generating the certificate, or if the biometric authentication fails due to poor fingerprint or iris scan quality.
What to do in case of rejection
If you’ve received a rejection SMS, the first step is to contact your Pension Disbursing Agency (PDA) — such as your bank or post office — to confirm the reason for rejection. Once the issue is identified, you can generate a fresh Jeevan Pramaan ID by providing the correct details and re-authenticating your biometrics.
Pensioners can submit their life certificate through:
- Jeevan Pramaan centres (often available at banks, post offices, and CSCs)
- The Jeevan Pramaan app (for those with a biometric device connected to a smartphone or computer)
It’s important to note that re-employed or re-married pensioners are not eligible to generate a Jeevan Pramaan certificate.

Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners Scheme of the Government of India known as Jeevan Pramaan seeks to address this very problem by digitizing the whole process of securing the life certificate. It aims to streamline the process of getting this certificate and making it hassle free and much easier for the pensioners.
With the November rush underway, pensioners are advised to complete their verification early to avoid disruption in pension credit. A few minutes of care while entering details and capturing biometrics can ensure your pension continues without interruption.
