Aadhaar card got misplaced, destroyed, or you simple need a fresh one? You don't need to visit any centre to get a new one as UIDAI now offers an online reprint facility for Indian residents. You can order an Aadhaar letter—printed on secure paper with holograms and QR code—which can be delivered to your location by India Post. You can even place this order if your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar, though the process is a bit different.

Visit the UIDAI website (https://uidai.gov.in) and choose the "Order Aadhaar Reprint" link under the 'My Aadhaar' section. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number or VID (Virtual ID), as well as the security captcha. If the mobile number is linked with Aadhaar, an OTP will be received to verify the request. If not linked, you can proceed by ticking the box called "My mobile number is not registered" and following the instructions. Once verified, you’ll be taken to a payment gateway.
