Bengaluru hosted the Moneycontrol Mutual Fund Summit 2025, presented by HDFC Mutual Fund, powered by Axis Mutual Fund, where leading voices from the financial sector examined the trends reshaping India’s mutual fund landscape. Industry leaders such as D.P. Singh, Deputy MD & Joint CEO, SBI Mutual Fund, Navneet Munot, MD & CEO of HDFC AMC, Akhil Chaturvedi, Executive Director & Chief Business Officer, Motilal Oswal AMC and Senthil Gunasekaran, Chief Business Development Officer, KFin Technologies came together to underscore how innovation, digital transformation, and investor behaviour are steering the industry into a new growth phase.

Kicking off the discussions, D.P. Singh spoke about the introduction of Specialised Investment Funds (SIFs). He described the product category as the bridge between traditional mutual funds and AIFs, designed to combine transparency with advanced investment strategies while ensuring investor protection and tax efficiency. According to him, this is a major step towards product diversification and innovation within a regulated framework.

Picking up that thread, Navneet Munot highlighted the strengthening investor ecosystem, outlining four pillars driving the industry track record, technology, transparency, and training. He pointed out the doubling of HDFC AMC’s investor base in two years, crediting it to the widespread digital adoption and disciplined investing.

Building on the conversation around behaviour and trust, Akhil Chaturvedi emphasised the role of investor conviction and education in fostering wealth creation. He stressed that education and steady engagement are what help savers become long-term wealth creators, especially as market participation grows beyond major metros.
