Kotak Mahindra MF pick IT, auto, telecom; sells metal

Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund has increased its weightage in information technology, automotive and telecom space, while decreased its weightage in oil & gas, metals & mining and tobacco space.

Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund has increased its weightage in information technology, automotive and telecom space, while decreased its weightage in oil & gas, metals & mining and tobacco space.

Dabur India, Sterlite Industries (India) and HDFC Warrants were top buys, while Hindalco Industries, Jaiprakash Associates and ITC were top sells by the fund. The study of Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund for the month of February 2012 showed that in the information technology sector, it bought TCS, Infosys, MphasiS and Oracle Financial. However, it exited MindTree and HCL Technologies. In the automotive pack, it purchased Mahindra and Mahindra and Motherson Sumi Systems and Tata Motors, while sold Bajaj Auto, Maruti Suzuki India and Apollo Tyres. (View - All Bulk Deals by Mutual Funds). The fund bought Bharti Airtel in the telecom space. It sold Reliance Industries, ONGC, GAIL India and IOC in the oil & gas segment. In the metals & mining space, it sold Coal India, Hindalco Industries and Jindal Steel. It also exited from Sesa Goa and SAIL. The fund bought Sterlite Industries (India) Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation in the same sector. The fund sold ITC in the tobacco pack.
