NAVs close higher; all sectoral funds advance

Equity diversified NAVs closed higher with advance:decline ratio of 246:3 as benchmarks continued the uptrend for fourth consecutive session. Metal, telecom, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG), healthcare, realty, select infrastructure and financial companies' shares supported markets along with ONGC and Infosys.

Equity diversified NAVs closed higher with advance:decline ratio of 246:3 as benchmarks continued the uptrend for fourth consecutive session. Metal, telecom, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG), healthcare, realty, select infrastructure and financial companies' shares supported markets along with ONGC and Infosys.

The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 20,561, up 52 points and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 23 points to 6,157. The broader indices outperformed benchmarks; the BSE Midcap Index was up 0.9% and Smallcap up 1.8%. All sectoral funds advanced. Short term debt funds too ended higher while long term debt funds closed mixed; their advance:decline ratio stood at 95:17 & 43:40, respectively.
