Risk aversion, mkt volatility to continue near-term: Edelweiss

In times of volatility, the best way to approach the market would be to look at sectors that are aligned to economic growth of the country, says Vikas Khemani, CFA, President and CEO, Edelweiss Securities.

Vikas Khemani, CFA, President and CEO, Edelweiss Securities clearly believes the situation is currently quite complex, especially with global factors weighing heavily on the market and leading to volatility, adding that this kind of uncertainly is likely to continue for the next 3-6 months.
The geopolitical risks too are worsening by the day adding to the complex situations, says Khemani in an interview to CNBC-TV18 from the sideline of the 6th India Investment Conference 2016.Risk aversion too is high during periods of global uncertainty, says Khemani.It is very difficult to give an outlook for the market because with every evolving situation, the global policy makers react differently. So the best way to approach the market would be to look at sectors that are aligned to economic growth of the country and as when investment cycle picks up sectors like banking, housing finance, consumption story, capital goods should be looked at, says Kehmani. The IT space according to him is show characteristics of a defensive sector, believes Khemani.For the entire discussion, watch videos
