RIL annual report: Jio plans global rollout of in-house tech after pan-India deployment

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) said on Thursday that its Jio telecom unit is expanding its leadership in 5G, fixed broadband and converged network technologies to tap into the growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) services.

The company said its indigenously developed technologies are being deployed at scale across India and will also be taken to global markets, offering long-term growth potential and stable shareholder returns.

"Jio’s leadership in network, consumer and enterprise technologies will maintain its distinct competitive advantage," RIL said in its annual report released on August 7.

Jio has become the world’s largest data network with 488 million users, of which nearly 191 million are on 5G, the report said.
