MSCI Rejig: Coromandel, Nykaa join Global Standard index following May rebalancing

Global index provider MSCI added Coromandel International and Nykaa to its Global Standard Index in its latest semi-annual review, effective May 30, 2025.

Fertiliser company Coromandel International Ltd., and FSN E-commerce Ventures Ltd., parent of of beauty retailer Nykaa, are slated to join the  MSCI Global Standard Index as part of MSCI's latest semi-annual review. The changes will take effect at the close of trading on May 30, 2025.

One97 Communications Ltd., the parent firm of Paytm, did not make it back into the MSCI indices, against popular market expectations. The stock was previously dropped from the MSCI India Index in May last year. Furthermore, during this reshuffle, no Indian stocks were removed from the index.

The inclusion of these two companies is expected to lead to over $400 million in passive inflows, with Coromandel likely to attract between $227 million and $252 million, and Nykaa expected to see inflows of $181 million to $199 million, according to estimates from brokerages including IIFL and Nuvama.

Globally, MSCI added six Chinese stocks and removed 17 from its Global Standard Index. In Germany, sportswear brand Puma was among the deletions.
