Market to be volatile in near term; downside limited: Experts

Taher Badshah of Motilal Oswal Asset Management expects the domestic stock market to witness a lot of volatility in the coming few days but sees limited downside from current levels.

Badshah says that it is difficult to assess fund flows and therefore, tough to predict how the market will behave in the near term.

However, he points out that the activity in midcap index over the last few days also hints at a positive undertone and expects stock-specific activity as the quarterly results unfold

Badshah also expects some intermittent pressure on market over the next few quarters from banking sector results, as they unravel the asset quality.
