In a volatile session, the benchmark indices ended with marginal losses on December 24, with the Nifty above 23,700 amid buying seen in the auto, oil & gas, and FMCG names.
At close, the Sensex was down 67.30 points or 0.09 percent at 78,472.87, and the Nifty was down 25.80 points or 0.11 percent at 23,727.65.

The GIFT Nifty is trading flat, indicating a muted start for the day. Nifty futures were trading at 23,804 at 07:00 am IST.
Asian Equities (Up)
Asia’s benchmark stock index rose as equities gained in Japan and South Korea, while several other regional markets remain shut for holidays. Sentiment was boosted after US shares extended this year’s rally on Tuesday.

The US 10-Year Treasury added 13 basis points to 4.59 percent, while the 2-Year Treasury added 14 basis points to 4.33 percent, in the early trade on Thursday.
