Broader market underperforms, but these 34 small-cap stocks rose 10-30% in a week

There are as many as 34 stocks in the S&P BSE Smallcap index which bucked the trend and rose 10-30 percent in a week that include names like Alok Industries, Subex etc.

Resurfacing of the United States-China trade war, disappointing reaction to the government stimulus measures and a rate by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) wiped out gains which had pushed benchmark indices below crucial support levels.

The S&P BSE Sensex broke below 31,000 while the Nifty50 closed below 9,100 levels on May 22. But, the trend still remains to be on the upside as long as the index trades above 9,000 levels, suggest experts.

On a weekly basis, the S&P BSE Sensex fell 1.3 percent and the Nifty50 was down by 1.06 percent while the S&P BSE Small-cap index was down 1.5 percent while the S&P BSE Mid-cap plunged by about 2 percent in the same period.

There are as many as 34 stocks in the S&P BSE Small-cap index which bucked the trend and rose 10-30 percent in a week that include names like Alok Industries, Subex, Astec Lifesciences, Zen Technologies, and Sintex Industries etc. among others.
