The Indian rupee slipped further against the dollar. It has opened at 54.52 per dollar versus 54.48 yesterday.
The euro slumped further to a six-week low versus the dollar by uncertainty ahead of Italy's election at the weekend. The dollar index strong above 81 levels. Ashok Gautam, Axis Bank said, "The euro breaking the crucial support level of 1.32 and the significant fall in gold prices will add to dollar demand. Rupee weakness looks temporary, as strong inflows are likely due to the recent the bond auction. The range for the day is seen between 54.40-54.85/USD."
