BSE Sensex to open up; ONGC, Glenmark eyed

The BSE Sensex is expected to start higher on Friday, supported by firmer Asian peers, and will be on course to register their second weekly gain in three.

Oil & Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) will be watched after sources told Reuters a share sale in the state-run explorer is likely to be delayed to the first week of April from an earlier launch date of March 15. Glenmark Pharmaceuticals will be in focus after the drugmaker said late on Thursday its unit received US FDA approval for levocetirizine dihydrochloride tablets. The MSCI's measure of Asian markets other than Japan was up 1.2% by 0312 GMT, while Japan's Nikkei was trading 1.6% higher. The Nifty India stock futures in Singapore were up 0.8% higher, indicating the domestic market may follow suit. On Thursday, the 30-share BSE index rose 0.2% to 18,489.76 points. It is up 4.5% this week.
