The Indian government has issued a warning regarding fake X (formerly Twitter) accounts impersonating two distinguished military officers—Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sofia Qureshi. These fraudulent accounts have gained traction amid heightened public interest following India's launch of Operation Sindoor on May 7.

One such fake account, operating under the handle "@WingVyomikStan," falsely claims to represent Wing Commander Vyomika Singh. The profile describes itself as: "Proudly serving in the skies, defending the nation with Air Force. Duty, Honor," and boasts approximately 28,000 followers.

Similarly, another counterfeit profile impersonates Colonel Sofia Qureshi, inaccurately portraying her as "the first woman to lead the multi-national military Exercise Force 18."

In a statement, the government emphasised: "There is NO official X handle of Wg. Cdr. Vyomika Singh & Col. Sofiya Qureshi. Both of these handles are fake. Stay vigilant.
