Union Budget 2017-18: Farm sector needs a holding hand, say experts

A few hours before Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presents Union Budget, a cohort of India Inc captains expect the Budget to provide a stimulus to job creation and the farm sector.

Sunil Munjal, Chairman, Hero Corporate Services, told CNBC-TV18 that there needs to be a big impetus on job creation, especially startups. Sectors such as housing can be crucial to migrant labour and create job opportunities, he said adding that there is a need for rural push as well.

Seconding Munjal’s views, Rakesh Mittal, Vice-Chairman, Bharti Enterprises, said that the farm sector needs a helping hand in the wake of only one good monsoon in the recent years.
