As earnings season kicks off today, UBS expects large ticket resolutions to be the silver-lining in Q1 for banks.
Vishal Goyal, Executive Director-Leading Banks and Financial Research at UBS India shared his outlook on what could unfold in the Q1 results for the banking universe.
Goyal said that banks may see some relief from non-performing loans (NPL) going ahead.
According to him 4.5 percent of system loans are stressed and not recognised.
UBS India prefers HDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank among the retail banks and positive on ICICI Bank and Bank of Baroda among corporate lenders.
