Below is the transpcript of the interview
Q: About the results…
A: We have reversed last two year trends and we are reporting a sequentially positive quarter with Rs 11.1 crore growth. We are extremely pleased with it. The factors which have driven this growth are primarily subscribers, minutes of use as well as data.
Let me expand on this, our revenue for this quarter is Rs 7567 crore, a growth of 19.8 percent year on year basis. During the last one year the company has added 20.5 million subscribers from VLR. Number two from last year same quarter to this year our minutes of use has gone up by 17 percent and this quarter it was at 162.5 billion minutes.
Thirdly there has been explosion in mobile internet space from our users and the overall volume has grown by 126 percent year-on-year basis.
Q: Going ahead what are the areas, we have seen data grow significantly. What really do you see being the growth drivers in the next three quarters immediately?
A: We are very hopeful the past trends will continue into future. India is amongst the last countries where subscriber growth continues. If you notice TRAI report last year there has been 71 million subscribers added between September 2013 and August 2014 against previous September 2012 -August 2013 we are only 31 million subscribers. So there are a lot of customers who are entering the category.
