Net profit of Hindalco rose by a whopping 256.3 percent to Rs 439.7 crore in July-September from Rs 123.4 crore in corresponding quarter last fiscal. During the period, its total income was flat at Rs 9561.9 crore compared to Rs 9561.2 crore on annual basis.
There was an exceptional gain Of Rs 84.9 crore in Q2.
EBITDA, in Q2, was up 88.2 percent at Rs 1156.4 crore against Rs 614.5 crore while EBITDA margin stood at 12.1 percent versus 6.4 percent year-on-year (YoY).
The company had to bear tax expenses of Rs 192.8 crore against Rs 24.3 crore YoY.
Its aluminium revenue was up 9.7 percent at Rs 4930.2 crore in Q2 against Rs 4496.1 crore (YoY). In Q2 copper revenue slipped 8.6 percent at Rs 4634.8 crore versus Rs 5070.6 crore and finance costs at Rs 594.3 crore from Rs 627.5 crore (YoY).
The board has approved raising long-term funds Of up to Rs 5000 crore.
