Fortis Healthcare Thursday reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 90.86 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016 even as the company's board decided to consider demerger of diagnostics business in addition to other options to monetise its inherent value.

The company had posted a net loss after taxes, minority interest and share of profit of associates of Rs 17.53 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal, Fortis Healthcare said in a filing on BSE.

Consolidated total income from operations stood at Rs 1,088.29 crore for the quarter under consideration. It was Rs 1,063.73 crore for the same period a year ago.
