Beleaguered Vijay Mallya-led United Breweries Holdings Ltd (UBHL) today said it has appointed Ajay Kumar Vijay as its Chief Financial Officer with effect from April 20.
"Based on the recommendations of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Audit Committee, the Board of Directors at its meeting held on April 20, 2016 have approved the appointment of Ajay Kumar Vijay as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company with effect from April 20, 2016," UBHL said in a BSE filing.
UBHL's earlier President and CFO Ravi Nedungadi stepped down last month after reaching prescribed retirement age.
Mallya has been under pressure to return to India and face action for alleged misappropriation of funds. He left the country last month amid attempts by creditors back home to recover Rs 9,000 crore debt owed by the long-grounded Kingfisher Airlines.
