Likitha Bhanu has re-definied organic growth. What began as a hobby 18 months ago is now a booming Rs 15 crore business. Around 18 months ago, Bhanu decided to take a year off after graduation to join her mother Padmaja in a small organic farming project on their family's farms at Shankarpally in Telangana. But what began as a way to distribute excess produce has today become terra greens.
An organic foods brand that spans 92 staple products including a variety of cereals, pulses, spices, oils, sweeteners, beverages and even ready-to-cook breakfast mixes.
Through tie-ups with various retail chains like Spencers, Hypercity, Heritage, Foodall, Metro Cash & Carry, and Bigbasket, Terra Greens products are now available in 500 stores in 16 major cities across 5 states. And the brand has cornered a 15 percent share of the modern and general trade vertical in the organic foods market.
