Micromax has added another selfie centric smartphone to its product line. The new phone, Micromax Selfie 2, is set to be available at retail stores from Tuesday onwards. Priced at Rs 9999, the phone comes with an 8-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel rear panel.
The smartphone's biggest asset is its cameras. Fitted with Blur glass IR fitter, the camera has Sony IM135 censors. The camera is also equipped with a five-piece lens that gives greater quality. According to a report in India Today, the camera also comes with Auto Scene Detection mode, super pixel feature and Gallery 4.0 which uses image and face recognition technology.
The smartphone runs on Android Nougat and has a MediaTek MT6737 Quad-core 1.3GHz processor along with 3GB DDR3 RAM and an expandable internal storage of 32GB.
The smartphone also carries a fingerprint sensor. It comes with a 3000 mAh battery providing a long stand by time of 250 hours. The phone also offers 4G Volte with separate slots for the dual SIM cards and the micro SD card.
The Gurugram-based firm Micromax has been facing stiff competition from Chinese entrants like Xiaomi who are producing cheaper smartphones.
In response, Micromax is taking measures to launch products that are not only affordable but also specifications that satisfy the expanding customer base for the smartphones.
