At the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra lauded the state’s newly unveiled development vision, calling it one of the most “bold, ambitious and genuinely people-centric” blueprints he has encountered anywhere in the world.
Mahindra said the vision stands out because it was co-created through wide-ranging consultations with citizens and experts, ensuring it reflects “the needs, aspirations and hopes” of the people of Telangana. The core pillars of the roadmap, he noted, place youth at the centre, position women as economic leaders, and establish sustainability as a non-negotiable foundation for growth.
Highlighting Mahindra Group’s involvement in the state’s transformation, he pointed to the company’s women-led battery manufacturing facility in Zaheerabad, describing it as a testament to the Group’s confidence in Telangana’s future.
Anand Mahindra also spoke about his role as chairman of the Young India Skills University, a position he accepted after the Chief Minister convinced him of its importance for India’s broader future. In an age dominated by artificial intelligence and what he called a “digital tsunami,” Mahindra said real-world human skills will become even more valuable.
“The more digital the world becomes, the more indispensable the skill of the hand, the intuition of the craftsperson, the empathy of the caregiver and the problem-solving grit of the technician will be,” he said. The university, he added, embodies the belief that “blue collar is the new gold collar.”
Concluding his address, Mahindra said the Mahindra Group would continue to stand firmly with the people of Telangana and work alongside them to translate their ambition into prosperity.
