Nearly USD 48 billion worth of deals have been inked in 2017, this is the highest in the last decade.
The biggest deal of the year so far is the Idea-Vodafone merger, which broke first right here on CNBC-TV18 in June of 2016.
It has been a bumper year for private equity (PE) players with deals worth USD 15 billion, this is the highest ever for PE in terms of value.
But, cross border deals have seen a 2-fold decline compared to 2016. So far this year, we have seen only cross border deals worth nearly USD 5 billion.
And finally, it has been the year of initial public offerings (IPOs) with heavyweights like D-Mart hitting Dalal Street. In total, 22 IPOs have managed to raise USD 2.5 billion this year.
