GST implementation: A ground check

In an interview to CNBC-TV18, MS Unnikrishnan, MD of Thermax and Anil Gupta, CMD of KEI Industries spoke about the teething problems occurring post the implementation of goods and services tax (GST) and how long it will last.

Unnikrishnan said, companies with high debt are facing problems post GST implementation.

"These are only teething problems, which all of us will have to learn to live with and we got to spruce power systems within the government, outside, in our companies, in our suppliers. It is a matter of maybe a couple of more quarters for India to come back to normalcy for the GST implementation, which will help all of us," he said.

KEI's Gupta said in the long-term the government should bring GST rate for cables to 18 percent from 28 percent.
