Buzz in the paper industry earlier this year was that China had banned making paper from waste pulp which would benefit Indian paper companies.
Star Paper Mills is one such company, the stock is up over 10 percent in trade today itself. In an interview to CNBC-TV18, GP Goenka, Chairman of the company spoke about the latest happenings in the company.
I cannot predict what the future situation is but by and large paper industry is doing reasonably okay, said Goenka.
He further said that we have been exporting for a while and that has gone up of late but not near the kind of numbers that we are talking about.
According to him, very little paper is made from waste pulp almost everywhere.
