September saw a positive surprise in growth of commercial vehicles (CVs) for the entire industry including Eicher Motors.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO-VE Commercial Vehicles, Eicher Motors spoke about the numbers and his outlook going ahead.
Commercial vehicle cycle is turning around, said Aggarwal.
"Going forward we are positive because we are seeing good traction in construction segment," he added.
On goods and services tax (GST) front, he said it is changing the equations and there is a lot of optimisation in logistics as well as warehousing.
Aggarwal also said that huge movement is seen in multi axle trucks.
He mentioned that there is no clarity on taxes applicable to sale of second hand trucks.
Talking about business, he said in buses segment the market share has grown from 17 percent to 18 percent plus, a marginal drop from 33.5 percent to 31.5 percent in light and medium duty trucks and continuing to be close to 5 percent in heavy duty trucks.
