Consumer durables likely to go up Nov onwards: Videocon

India's industrial output in August rose a lower-than expected 4.1% from a year earlier on Wednesday. On the other hand, the consumer durables output growth slowed to 4.6% in August, compared to a growth of 8.1% in the previous year.


Venugopal Dhoot, chairman and managing director of Videocon expects the consumer durables industry to go up from November onwards. Videocon has increased prices in the last two months, he added. It has come in at a very paltry 4.6% for consumer durables for the month of August. The overall industrial number is also bad at 4.1%. What is the situation on the ground? Did you have a bad August?
