Deepak Parekh on issues that are holding back India

Though not happy with the central bank’s move, Deepak Parekh, chairman of HDFC spoke about how inflation needs to be tackled along with growth of economy.

In January this year a group of 14 illustrious and very concerned citizens wrote a letter to our leaders in government expressing severe concern regarding four key issues, governance deficit, entrenched corruption, the constraints of coalition politics and environmental concerns. One of those 14 members was Deepak Parekh.

In an interview with CNBC-TV18's Menaka Doshi, Deepak Parekh, chairman, HDFC says, on three of the issues, there have certainly been some debate, some action, some concern, and some movement. However, he says, the politics of coalition government, no one can do anything about it.
