Gold prices dropped amid global uncertainties. Gold's August contracts on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) opened at Rs 96,735 per 10 grams on July 4.

"Gold traded weak and volatile as prices fluctuated within Rs 97,000 – 97,750, primarily due to rupee appreciation from 85.50 to 85.30 levels, which weighed on domestic prices despite global cues," said Jateen Trivedi, VP Research Analyst - Commodity and Currency, LKP Securities.
"The market now awaits crucial U.S. data releases this evening, including Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP) and unemployment figures, which could provide fresh direction. Going ahead, gold is expected to trade in a broader range of Rs 95,500 – 98,500," he added.
