Oil ministry seeks Rs 5000cr compensation from Centre: Srcs

Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the Centre will take a call on the subsidy sharing mechanism shortly after taking into account the interests of oil companies and the exchequer.

Oil ministry sources have told CNBC-TV18 that the finance ministry has given them a verbal assurance that upstream oil companies will not have to bear any subsidy burden in the fourth quarter. Oil ministry has sought Rs 5,000 crore compensation from the centre in Q4. Finance Ministry, however, is yet to communicate its decision on Q4 subsidy shring mechanism.
