Indian IT sector hopes for a memorable, growth-led 2014

Clients are becoming a little less tight-fisted about IT budgets in 2014. But they're also getting more choosy about where they want to put this money. And emerging technology like digital, analytics and mobility are the verticals of choice.

The IT sector is ready to leave the not-so-memorable 2013 behind. CNBC-TV18's Kritika Saxena, who spoke to a host of industry big-wigs at the channel's India Buisness Leader Awards, reports that most firms are banking on emerging technologies and better client budgets to make 2014 a memorable one.

2013 had its set of challenges for the IT sector. But it is over and 2014, according to the IT sector guys, holds out quite a few promises.

CP Gurnani, CEO, Tech Mahindra says: “Market is clearly better for the IT sector, both in the US and Europe. In terms of IT spend, while the growth will not be dramatic, clearly we are seeing a digital IT storm which will benefit companies like Tech Mahindra.”
