An inter-ministerial committee met on Friday to deliberate upon three auctioned coal blocks and submit its recommendations to the government. The central government will be taking the final decision on whether to re-auction these three coal mines or not based on the report submitted by the committee.
The three coal blocks include Marki Mangli 3, Gare Palma IV/1, 2 and 3. Sources say IMC has concluded that it is up to the Central government to decide whether it wants higher valuation of the coal blocks (whether one or all three), which were won by JSPL, BS Ispat and BALCO.
So it is now up to the government to decide whether or not it wishes to re-auction the blocks.
Power, coal and renewable energy minister Piyush Goyal said he will go through the recommendations of IMC and then the ministry will deliberate and take a final call.
